Hand Block prints
Hand block printing is one of the oldest forms of textile art in India. It is a traditional printing process in which a craftsman creates Impressions on fabrics with skilled precision using blocks of wood carved out by hand. ‘Sanganeri’, ‘Bagru’ and ‘Dabu’ are various techniques and forms of hand block printing mastered by artisans over centuries.
The art of interlacing warp and weft yarns of silk or silk blends on a hand-operated loom produces a traditional handloom silk fabric rich in heritage and rooted in Indian tradition. This labour intensive craft is extensively practiced in our Indian villages by master craftsmen who have been doing so for generations and which provides them with their sustainable livelihood.
