Hand Block prints

Hand block printing is one of the oldest forms of textile art in India. It is a traditional printing process in which a craftsman creates impressions on fabrics with skilled precision using blocks of wood carved out by hand. ’Ajrakh’, ‘Sanganeri’, ‘Bagru’ and ‘Dabu’ are various techniques and forms of hand block printing mastered by artisans over centuries.

Ajrakh Print

Ajrakh is a complex technique of hand block printing which uses natural dyes and is distinguished by its earthy colours. The patterns created are intricate, involving an elaborate 14-step process right from washing the fabric to hand printing motifs on it.
